Something different for me. I found this photo on sxc.hu and I just had to use it. I wondered whether I could paint rocks similar to the one in the pic, using the pic as reference. I think it came out okay, considering this kind of thing is quite new to me. First I expanded the beach, then came the sea. Then did the clouds and the sky, using another photo from sxc and put it in the planet ( I just had to, sorry). After those, it was the rocks' turn to get painted 
Last, but not least, I added the pirate ships, using stocks, again from sxc.hu, as a base.

The ship is sailing downwind, with a bone in her teeth (frothy bow wake) directly at the shore. These pirates must be morons. They will never get that ship turned about and away from the lee shore before their bottom grates on the wide shallow sand of the beach. They are doomed.
The ship would have anchored well offshore and sent in a scouting party by longboat. Or, the beach could have been a weather shore (wind blowing off the land towards the water) which would have allowed them to ghost along parallel to the shore to check it out. I do not think a ship of that size would have sailed inside those tall rocks in any case. Perhaps the scaling is off.
